Testimony:
I praise Jesus for all He has
done for me and my family. I was raised in a
somewhat different manner than most. My mother
was a “flower child”.
When I was about 8 years old, my parents ran a
pizza shop in Connecticut. The parking lot had
two building in it. One was the pizza shop and
the other was a local outlaw motorcycle club.
This is where I also got my first motorcycle
ride.
I got my first leather biker jacket at around 10
years old and at about 14 things really started
going south for me. I found drugs before I
started experimenting with alcohol. This would
be a problem I carried for the next 20 years. To
make a long story short I had “experimented”
with everything at the time except heroin.
Needles to say, this didn’t do much for my brain
cells due to the fact by the time I was 18 I
also found a real liking for alcohol.
In 1982 I married my wife who had 2 children
already. Well between substance abuse and no God
in my life I really did a bang up job raising 2
kids.
Things hit an all time low in 1994 which is what
brought me to Christ. At the time I was saved I
only new of two things to do. One was
motorcycles and the other was music (did I
mention I play guitar and have been in a couple
of bands). Anyway I started playing for the
worship team and started looking for some type
of ministry work around motorcycles. That took
another three years to happen but God most
certainly has a plan. To make another long story
short, I was watching the evening news one day
and a Promise Keepers in D.C. was on. They were
having a gathering on the first weekend of
October and this was almost the end of
September. I told my wife “I’m going to that and
I’m riding my bike down”. She thought I was nuts
and tried talking me out of it with things like
“ you don’t know anyone down there” or “ where
are you going to find a place this late in the
game”. Well God has a plan because this is where
I met the Sons of God MC. On a side note the day
I left for D.C. it was 27 degrees outside. That
was in 1997 and I’ve been involved in the Sons
ever since. Praise God.
